TikTok

Prepare and review your TikTok posts.

Prepare your media and caption with TikTok’s publishing restrictions in view.

Review the required choices

Check the media, caption and available privacy settings before confirming a post. Features that the API cannot publish stay in TikTok.

Formats, limits and results

See the supported formats, text and media limits, required settings, platform-only features and available metrics below. These details come from the same capability data the editor uses.

Confirm the version you intend to share

A person confirms publishing by default. A workspace owner can explicitly enable auto-publish for a particular agent in a particular workspace.

Current access

Limited

TikTok has not audited heyeveryone yet, so posts go out as private (Only me), the TikTok account must be private at the time of posting, and at most 5 accounts can post through heyeveryone in any 24 hours. Sending to TikTok drafts isn't limited this way: you choose who can see the post when you post it in TikTok.

Send to TikTok drafts

Sends the video to your TikTok inbox as a draft. You open it in TikTok, add a sound and the caption, choose who can see it and post it there. TikTok doesn't take the caption with a draft, so copy it from here.

Sent as a draft; you finish posting in the platform app.

More to know

  • TikTok counts text in UTF-16 code units (video caption 2,200; photo title 90; photo description 4,000). Emoji and some other characters count as two, so a plain character count can undercount; the TikTok adapter checks the exact UTF-16 length.
  • Photo posts: the post text here is the description (4,000); the 90-unit title is a separate setting.
  • Before each post, TikTok's creator info decides the allowed privacy levels, the maximum video length and which interactions (comments, Duet, Stitch) can be turned on.
  • Branded content cannot be private. Commercial content needs at least one of 'Your brand' or 'Branded content'.
  • Minimum video duration and aspect ratio are not documented. The API accepts up to 10 minutes; some accounts can only post 3 or 5 minutes.
  • Video frame rate must be 23 to 60 fps; resolution 360 to 4096 pixels per side.
  • Photos: maximum resolution is 1080p (exact pixel bounds not stated).
  • Alt text is not found in the Content Posting API docs; treated as unknown.
  • Pulling from our URL requires a verified domain or URL prefix; the URL must stay reachable for an hour with no redirects. Photo posts only support pulling from a URL. FILE_UPLOAD sends chunks of 5 to 64 MB.
  • Rate limits per user token: post init 6 per minute, creator info 20 per minute, status 30 per minute. TikTok also caps posts per creator account per day (typically around 15, shared by every app that posts for them).
  • Until TikTok audits heyeveryone: posts are private (Only me), the account must be private when posting, and at most 5 creator accounts can post through heyeveryone in a 24-hour window.
  • Public posts get their public id and link only after TikTok's moderation approves them (usually under a minute, sometimes a few hours); until then the post is live but has no link or numbers in heyeveryone.
  • Media transfer: TikTok's guidelines say media already on our servers should be sent with PULL_FROM_URL from a verified domain or URL prefix; FILE_UPLOAD is for files on the user's device. heyeveryone pulls when TIKTOK_VERIFIED_URL_PREFIXES covers the media URL and uploads otherwise; set the prefix in production (see docs/setup/platforms/media-urls.md). Photo posts can only be pulled.
  • Send to TikTok drafts (video.upload): the video or photos land in the creator's TikTok inbox and they finish and post them in TikTok. TikTok's audit limits (private only, 5 creators a day) are Direct Post rules and don't apply; a creator can have at most 5 drafts from apps waiting in any 24 hours. A video draft carries no caption or settings (TikTok's inbox upload takes only the video); a photo draft carries its title and description.
  • It may take a few minutes for the post to process and show on the TikTok profile.
  • By posting, you agree to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation.
